What “runs on your device” means for this tool
When you open this page, your browser downloads the timer itself, the same way any web page loads. From then on, all the timing happens inside your browser, on your own device, using your device's clock. Nothing you set is sent to this website's server or to anyone else.
What is saved: a running timer, stopwatch and your alarms are remembered in this browser only, so they carry on if you reload the page. Clearing your browsing data removes them.
Keep the tab open: a web page can only ring while it is open. Closing the tab or putting a phone to sleep may stop the sound.
Visit counting: this site counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics. No cookies, no ads, no tracking across other sites, and your IP address is not stored. It records which page you opened, your country, your device type and how long you stayed.
How to use the Timer & Stopwatch
- Pick Timer, Stopwatch, Alarm clock or Pomodoro.
- For a timer, type the time or tap a preset like 5 min. It starts right away.
- Press Full screen for big numbers you can see across the room.
- When time is up it rings until you press Stop. Keep the tab open.
Questions
Will the timer still ring if I switch tabs?
Yes. The page keeps time with your device’s clock and rings on time in a background tab. Closing the tab, or letting a phone go to sleep, can stop it.
Can I get a notification as well as the sound?
Yes. Press “Also notify me” and allow notifications. You’ll get a pop-up when time is up, even while working in another window.
What is the Pomodoro technique?
Work with full focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minute break. After four rounds, take a longer 15 minute break. The times can be changed.
Does the stopwatch have keyboard shortcuts?
Yes: Space starts and stops, L records a lap and R resets.
Does a reload lose my timer?
No. A running timer, the stopwatch and your alarms are remembered in this browser and pick up where they left off.
