What “runs on your device” means for this tool
When you open this page, your browser downloads the timer itself, the same way any web page loads. From then on, all the timing happens inside your browser, on your own device, using your device's clock. Nothing you set is sent to this website's server or to anyone else.
What is saved: a running timer, stopwatch and your alarms are remembered in this browser only, so they carry on if you reload the page. Clearing your browsing data removes them.
Keep the tab open: a web page can only ring while it is open. Closing the tab or putting a phone to sleep may stop the sound.
Visit counting: this site counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics. No cookies, no ads, no tracking across other sites, and your IP address is not stored. It records which page you opened, your country, your device type and how long you stayed.
How to use the Online Stopwatch
- Press Start (or the Space bar).
- Press Lap (or L) to record a lap.
- Press Stop to pause, Reset (or R) to start over.
- Copy the laps into a spreadsheet.

How accurate is it?
It uses your device’s clock, accurate to the hundredth of a second shown, even in a background tab.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Space starts and stops, L records a lap and R resets.
Does it keep going if I close the tab?
If you come back in the same browser it carries on from the right time, because the start time is remembered.
