Samsung patents 5G method for sending data from multiple phone antennas
This filing describes how a phone tells a cell tower if it can send data using multiple internal antennas at the same time. If the phone cannot use all antennas together, it follows a set rule to decide which data stream to send first.
In the filing’s own words
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rates. The present disclosure relates to operations of a terminal and a base station in a wireless communication system and, more particularly, the present disclosure provides a method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system, comprising the steps of: transmitting, to a base station, capability information indicating whether multi-panel simultaneous transmission is supported; receiving, from the base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message including information about one or more transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states for uplink transmission and information about the multi-panel simultaneous transmission; receiving, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) for activating at least one TCI state; and transmitting an uplink signal on the basis of the activated at least one TCI state.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising: a transceiver; and a controller coupled to the transceiver, wherein the controller is configured to: receive, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message including first information configuring a first configured grant (CG) physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and second information configuring a second CG PUSCH, wherein the first CG PUSCH is configured with a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state associated with a first sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set index, and the second CG PUSCH is configured with a TCI state associated with a second SRS resource set index; and in case that simultaneous transmission across multi-panel (STxMP) of the first CG PUSCH and the second CG PUSCH, based on the first TCI state and the second TCI state, is not available, transmit, to the base station, at least one of the first CG PUSCH or the second CG PUSCH according to a priority.
