Samsung patents method to streamline 5G signal checks across multiple carriers
This filing describes a way for 5G phones to more efficiently search for control signals when using multiple data carriers at once. It involves checking specific resource locations on a secondary carrier to find instructions meant for the primary connection, reducing unnecessary scanning.
In the filing’s own words
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-generation (4G) system with a technology for internet of things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a blind detection method for Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) candidate, comprising: determining a resource location of a serving cell for transmitting the PDCCH candidate corresponding to a Primary cell (Pcell), wherein, the serving cell includes Pcell and/or Secondary cell (Scell); and blindly detecting the PDCCH candidate corresponding to Pcell on the determined resource location of the serving cell. Based on the solution of the embodiment of the present application, in a CA system, the allocation of the resources occupied by the PDCCH can be implemented more reasonably and effectively.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a base station, configuration information for a first carrier and a second carrier, wherein the first carrier and the second carrier are associated with physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates corresponding to the first carrier, identifying a first number of PDCCH candidates to be monitored on the first carrier and a second number of PDCCH candidates to be monitored on a second carrier; monitoring a first set of PDCCH candidates corresponding to the first carrier on the first carrier based on the first number of PDCCH candidates; and monitoring a second set of PDCCH candidates corresponding to the first carrier on the second carrier based on the second number of PDCCH candidates.
