Microsoft patents tool to estimate candidate pool size for job ads
Microsoft describes a system that uses a pre-built graph to quickly estimate how many people on a job platform match a new job posting. It analyzes the job's details against stored member profiles to calculate the size of the qualified candidate pool without slow real-time processing.
In the filing’s own words
Described herein is a technique for generating data for a computer system. An apparatus comprises a high-speed communication bus, a memory unit communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus, an integrated circuit communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus, the integrated circuit to execute a machine learned model trained to receive input data and generate a set of implicit keywords from the input data to support a network service, and an implicit facet mapper to map the input data to an implicit facet of a knowledge graph, a database communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus, the database to store the set of implicit keywords and implicit facet in a data structure, and a network interface communicatively coupled to the high-speed communication bus to access a wireless network. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A method, comprising: accessing a pre-computed graph mapping a plurality of member profiles of members of an online job hosting service to a plurality of promoted job postings via a plurality of data structures, wherein a data structure comprises a plurality of member profile attributes and corresponding member profile attribute values linked with a plurality of job attributes and corresponding job attribute values, wherein the pre-computed graph reduces latency associated with processing requests; receiving data relating to a new job posting; determining from the data a plurality of job attributes and corresponding job attribute values; determining a size of a qualified candidate pool for the new job posting based on the job attributes and corresponding job attribute values using the pre-computed graph; and presenting via a user interface the size of the qualified candidate pool for the new job posting.
