Samsung patents wheeled monitor that moves itself when screens connect
Samsung has filed a patent for a display device equipped with wheels and motors on its base. When an external screen connects to the main unit, a control system adjusts the motors to automatically reposition the displays based on how they are being used.
In the filing’s own words
A display device including a housing on which a display is mountable; at least one connection unit arrangeable on at least one side of the housing; a plurality of wheels to be disposed on lower ends of both sides of the housing; a plurality of motors to rotate the plurality of wheels, respectively; and a control unit. Based on at least one external display device being connected to the housing through the at least one connection unit, the control unit may control at least one motor among the plurality of motors according to the operational state of the entire display device, including both the display device and the at least one external display device. Accordingly, the arrangement of the display devices may be automatically changed.
