Samsung patents bracket design to keep flexible wires away from screens
Samsung describes an internal structure for electronic devices that uses a bracket with a hole to route flexible circuit boards. A small support piece inside the hole holds the flexible wire in place, ensuring it does not touch the display screen behind it.
In the filing’s own words
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a bracket including one surface facing outside of the electronic device, another surface facing inside of the electronic device and opposite to the one surface, and a through hole penetrating the one surface and the other surface, a display disposed on the one surface of the bracket, a printed circuit board spaced apart from the other surface of the bracket in a direction toward which the other surface of the bracket faces, a flexible printed circuit board passing through the through hole and extending from one surface of the display facing the one surface of the bracket to the printed circuit board, and a supporting portion partially disposed on the through hole and is spaced apart from the one surface of the display, wherein the supporting portion is in contact with a part of a portion of the flexible printed circuit board, and wherein the supporting portion separates the part of the flexible printed circuit board passing through the through hole from the one surface of the display.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. An electronic device comprising: a bracket including one surface facing outside of the electronic device, another surface facing inside of the electronic device and opposite to the one surface, and a through hole penetrating the one surface and the other surface; a display disposed on the one surface of the bracket; a printed circuit board spaced apart from the other surface of the bracket in a direction toward which the other surface of the bracket faces; a flexible printed circuit board passing through the through hole and extending from one surface of the display facing the one surface of the bracket to the printed circuit board; and a supporting portion partially disposed on the through hole and spaced apart from the one surface of the display, wherein the supporting portion is in contact with a part of the flexible printed circuit board, and wherein the supporting portion separates the part of the flexible printed circuit board passing through the through hole from the one surface of the display.
