Samsung patents method to manage data transmission in 5G unlicensed bands
Samsung has been granted a patent for a method that helps mobile devices manage data transmission when using two different frequency bands simultaneously. The system allows a device to cancel part of a scheduled data upload if it interferes with another transmission on an adjacent frequency, ensuring smoother communication in crowded wireless environments.
In the filing’s own words
The present disclosure relates to a communication technique for converging IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G system, and a system therefor. The present disclosure may be applied to an intelligent service (for example, a smart home, a smart building, a smart city, a smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail business, a security and safety-related service, etc.) on the basis of 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. The present disclosure discloses a method and device for transmitting uplink data.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A method for a terminal supporting carrier aggregation (CA) of a first component carrier (CC) and a second CC in an unlicensed band to transmit an uplink signal, the method comprising: reporting, to a base station, a terminal capability for a phase discontinuity impact; receiving, from the base station, information for a configured grant PUSCH at the first CC; receiving, from the base station, information for a dynamic grant PUSCH at the second CC; determining to cancel a transmission of at least part of the configured grant PUSCH, wherein the transmission of the at least part of the configured grant PUSCH is cancelled from a time point; determining whether to cancel a transmission of at least part of the dynamic grant PUSCH; and transmitting, to the base station, the dynamic grant PUSCH, wherein the transmission of at least part of the dynamic grant PUSCH is cancelled from the time point in case that the first CC and the second CC are adjacent in frequency domain and the time point is located during transmission of the dynamic grant PUSCH.
