Gkn Aftermarket recall: Power train
What is wrong
GKN Automotive (GKN) is recalling certain replacement driveshafts for 2006-2015 BMW Mini, 2004-2018 Land Rover Discovery, and Range Rover vehicles. The driveshaft can crack or break.
What could happen
A cracked or broken driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power or a vehicle rollaway while in Park. Both scenarios increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
GKN will reimburse the cost of a replacement driveshaft and installation labor. Notification letters were mailed to distributors November 20, 2024. Owners may contact GKN customer service at [email protected] or by calling +31-653435212.
