Mopar recall: Air bags

What is wrong

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain MOPAR right and left side curtain air bags, with part numbers 68222742AF, 68222743AF, 05108050AF, and 05108049AF, sold as replacement parts for certain 2011-2019 Dodge Charger and 2011-2020 Chrysler 300 vehicles. The replacement right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect.

What could happen

An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking occupants, resulting in injury or death. In addition, an inflator rupture when not installed in a vehicle can result in injury or death of people nearby.

The fix

Dealers will replace or repurchase the side curtain air bags, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2025. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is 20B.
