Haldex recall: Service brakes, air
What is wrong
Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems (Haldex) is recalling certain inversion valves. Please see the attached 573 Defect report for full list of part numbers. An internal piston in the inversion valve may fail, delaying the engagement of the parking brake. As such, these valves fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
What could happen
Delayed parking brake engagement can result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will replace the inversion valve, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 31, 2024. Owners may contact Haldex customer service at 1-800-752-2501.
