Continental recall: Tires
What is wrong
Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (Continental Tire) is recalling certain ContiScoot tires. Cracks may develop in the tread grooves longer than 3/16 inch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires-Other Than Passenger Cars." Please refer to the 573 report for specific tire size information.
What could happen
Cracks in the tread can lead to tread separation, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Continental Tire will notify owners and replace the affected tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 8, 2022. Owners may contact Continental Tire customer service at 1-888-799-2168.
