Ride Eazy recall: Equipment
What is wrong
Silverstone Associates LLC (Silverstone) is recalling certain Ride Eazy DOT Sleek helmets, sizes S, M, L, XL, and XXL. These helmets may not adequately protect the wearer in the event of a head impact during a motorcycle crash. As such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218, "Motorcycle Helmets."
What could happen
A helmet that does not adequately protect the wearer from an impact can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
The fix
Silverstone will notify owners, and provide replacement helmets, free of charge. The recall began January 9, 2019. Owners may contact Silverstone customer service at 1-410-696-7180.
