Strange recall: Power train
What is wrong
Strange Engineering, Inc. (Strange) is recalling certain Modified Street Axles, part numbers P3109F05, P3509F05, P3509F0558, P3509F0558S, and P3509F05S, manufactured December 8, 2011, to April 17, 2015. The affected drive axles were modified after being heated treated and, as a result, the axles may have reduced strength.
What could happen
The reduction in strength may result in premature axle failure, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
The fix
Strange will notify owners, and repair shops will replace the axles and install new wheel bearings, sleeves, and seals, free of charge. The recall began on September 28, 2015. Owners may contact Strange customer service at 1-847-663-1701.
