The present disclosure relates to a 5G communication system or a 6G communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4G communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). There is disclosed a method for managing, in a network, one or more artificial intelligence and/or machine learning (AIML) model and/or functionality identities (MFIDs) for identifying one or more corresponding AIML models and/or AIML functionalities. The method comprises: transmitting, by the network, to one or more user equipment (UEs), information for allowing the UE and/or the network to assign one or more MFIDs to one or more corresponding models and/or functionalities in a unique manner.
