Google patents system to prioritize updates for 3D object displays
This filing describes a method for managing how 3D objects are displayed on a user's device. When multiple updates are requested for different 3D objects, the system assigns a priority score to each request. It then updates the objects based on these scores to manage the workload efficiently.
In the filing’s own words
A method and system are disclosed for updating renderings of three-dimensional (3D) objects. A first rendering of a first 3D object and a second rendering of a second 3D object is provided to a client device. One or more requests are received for a first update to the first rendering of the first 3D object and a second update to a second rendering of the second 3D object. A first update priority score is determined for the first update and a second update priority score is determined for the second update. At least one of the first rendering of the first 3D object or the second rendering of the second 3D object is updated based on the first update priority score for the first update and the second update priority score for the second update.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A method comprising: providing, by a processing device, a first rendering of a first three-dimensional (3D) object and a second rendering of a second 3D object to a client device; receiving, by the processing device, one or more requests for a first update to the first rendering of the first 3D object and a second update to the second rendering of the second 3D object; determining, by the processing device, a first update priority score for the first update and a second update priority score for the second update; and updating, by the processing device, at least one of the first rendering of the first 3D object or the second rendering of the second 3D object based on the first update priority score for the first update and the second update priority score for the second update.
