An electronic device, comprising: one or more processors comprising processing circuitry; and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to: determine a canonical point map that follows a canonical coordinate system having an axis aligned with respect to a reference direction, based on a machine learning-based scene restoration model from an acquired input image, wherein when a camera acquires the input image the camera has a view that is not aligned with the reference direction, and restore, from the determined canonical point map, a three-dimensional (3D) point map corresponding to a specified view that differs from the view of the camera when it acquires the input image.
