Sony patents chemical mix to keep light-sensitive films stable
Sony describes a chemical mixture for making light-sensitive films or holograms that stays stable before being exposed to light. It includes a special agent that prevents the material from changing how it absorbs light while sitting on a shelf.
In the filing’s own words
A main object of the present technology is to provide a technology capable of suppressing an absorption wavelength of a composition from being fixed before exposure in relation to a composition for manufacturing a photocurable resin or a hologram recording medium. As a result of intensive studies, the present inventors have found that by including an absorption wavelength maintaining agent in a photocurable resin or a composition for manufacturing a hologram recording medium, it is possible to suppress fixation of an absorption wavelength of the composition before exposure and to improve long-term storability of the composition.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A composition comprising: a sensitizing dye that reversibly changes an absorption wavelength of light; a polymerizable monomer; and an absorption wavelength maintaining agent.
