An electronic device, comprising: a display; a processor; and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the electronic device to: display, through the display, a text input field in a messaging service application; in response to a first user input for selecting a first emotion representation content from a plurality of emotion representation contents, present the first emotion representation content in the text input field; in response to a second user input for selecting a second emotion representation content from the plurality of emotion representation contents, generate an animation corresponding to an emotion combination of the first emotion representation content and the second emotion representation content, and present the second emotion representation content in the text input field and a preview representation of the generated animation; and based on selecting the preview representation, output the generated animation corresponding to the emotion combination of the first emotion representation content and the second emotion representation content.
