An electronic device comprising: a display; at least one processor including processing circuitry; and memory stores instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor individually or collectively, cause the electronic device to: obtain error information about a first application through a framework of an operating system (OS) of the electronic device, extract a type of an error from the obtained error information, based on the extracted type of the error, identify that a crash occurs in the first application, the crash indicating that the first application is forcibly terminated, based on the crash, determine whether an updated version of the first application is available in an application market, based on the updated version of the first application, which is available in the application market, provide, through the display, a user with a pop-up window, the pop-up window being for a first guide to install the updated version of the first application and informing the user that the crash has occurred in the first application, and after receiving a user input through the pop-up window, install the updated version of the first application for fixing the crash.
