Nvidia patents system that uses past data to predict actions in simulations
Nvidia describes a method for running computer simulations where the system predicts the next action an object should take. It combines recent events with long-term history to generate commands that keep the simulation running automatically.
In the filing’s own words
Apparatuses, systems, and techniques for automated activity simulation and synthetic data generation are provided. A first action associated with an asset in an environment in accordance with a simulation of the asset in the environment is detected. Short-term historical data associated with the asset is identified. The short-term historical data includes first prior simulation events of the simulation and associated with the asset that occurred during a first time period. Second prior simulation events of the simulation and associated with at least one of the first action or an additional asset in the environment is determined based on long-term historical data including simulation events associated with assets of the environment that occurred during a second time period. A simulation command for a second action associated with the asset in accordance with the simulation is generated based on the first prior simulation events and the second prior simulation events.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. A method comprising: detecting a first action associated with an asset of an environment in accordance with a simulation of the asset in the environment; identifying short-term historical data associated with the asset, wherein the short-term historical data comprises one or more first prior simulation events of the simulation associated with the asset that occurred during a first time period; determining, based on long-term historical data comprising one or more simulation events associated with one or more assets of the environment that occurred during a second time period that is longer than and comprises the first time period, one or more second prior simulation events of the simulation associated with at least one of the first action or an additional asset in the environment; and generating a simulation command for a second action associated with the asset in accordance with the simulation of the asset in the environment based on the one or more first prior simulation events and the one or more second prior simulation events.
