Sony patents AI method to share beam data in wireless networks
Sony describes a system for wireless devices that uses two separate AI models to predict the best signal direction. One model looks at space, while the other looks at time, and they share measurement data to work together.
In the filing’s own words
The present disclosure provides an electronic device and method on a user equipment side and a base station side for wireless communication, and a computer readable storage medium. The electronic device on the user equipment side for wireless communication comprises: a processing circuit configured to: pair a first artificial intelligence model used for performing spatial domain beam prediction and a second artificial intelligence model used for performing time domain beam prediction; and multiplex a beam measurement result between the first artificial intelligence model and the second artificial intelligence model if the pairing is successful.
What exactly they claim (claim 1)
1. An electronic apparatus for user equipment side of wireless communications, comprising: at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code, where the at least one memory and the computer program code are configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the electronic apparatus to: perform matching on a first artificial intelligence (AI) model for performing spatial domain beam prediction and a second AI model for performing time domain beam prediction; and in a case of matching succeeding, reuse beam measurement results between the first AI model and the second AI model.
