This patent describes a shoe sole design featuring a cushioning layer covered in bulb-shaped protrusions that wrap around the entire outer surface. The sole includes specific openings between these bulbs, particularly in the forefoot area, which may affect how the shoe flexes or interacts with the ground. An outsole layer is attached to this cushioning structure to provide traction and durability.

Why it mattersRunners and athletes might notice this design in future Nike shoes, as the unique bulb and opening layout could change the feel and flexibility of the footwear during movement.
