Disney patents TV channels that build custom schedules for friend groups

Disney has received a patent for a system that creates personalized TV channels for groups of people. It uses user profiles and other data to pick movies and shows that the group is likely to enjoy, then broadcasts them in a specific order. If you join the channel in the middle of a show, the system offers to restart it from the beginning.

Why it mattersThis could make it easier for friends or families to watch TV together by automatically creating a shared playlist that everyone likes, without needing to manually pick each show.
